After dinner, Snyder returned to his quarters. He’d have to have a talk with Sarge.
Cutler seemed to know something was up. Why didn’t he warn me?
Snyder removed his suffocating dress jacket. He began to cough. What the hell?
He looked up at the ceiling vent. Gas was streaming in. He ran to the door. Locked. He grabbed his Ekeys from his pants pocket and pressed the button.
Nothing doing.
He threw his body against the door as his cough worsened.
At his last attempt, Snyder fell to the floor. He struggled to get up, but couldn’t stand. He coughed. “Oh God!”
The world spun into darkness.
