As the Feast of Pantu draws near, Tarzan realizes there is little time left to organize a slave revolt before hundreds of prisoners are selected for death in the arena, the lion pits, and the fires of Tohr. Meanwhile, Darno and Uka narrowly escape capture on stolen elephants and race toward Rator, hoping to return with help before Tarzan is forced into his deadly combat with Mungo.
